💗 THE COMPARISON TRAP?
💗 Do you often find yourself comparing to friends, siblings, unrealistic social media images...you’re definitely not alone but how do you stop it?
💗 In a world where followers and likes can seem like proof of a person’s worth you don’t have to take the bait. People on social media a lot of the time only share their “highlight reels” and did you know that tech companies use algorithms to prioritise that information in social media feeds...hmmm
💗 YOU DO YOU
1. Seek connection NOT comparison - instead of scrolling on social media seek connection through sending private messages, talk about shared experiences
2. Look up just a little -
Upward comparison of someone slightly above you eg older can provoke motivation and effort
3. Count your blessings - be grateful
If you focus on the good things in your life you’re less likely to obsess about what you lack
4. Compare yourself to yourself
People who are happy use themselves for internal evaluation
5. Be Happy for others
Instead of being jealous explore what you appreciate and admire about other people and be happy for their success
💗 Ask yourself who am I comparing myself to? Am I comparing my “behind the scenes” to their “highlight reel”, make a list of all the things you love about yourself, start a gratitude practice, give others compliments on their success
💗 Are you in the Comparison Trap?
